Reducing File Size for Email
Email attachment limits are a constant frustration. Here's how to work around them.
Strategy 1: Compress with ZIP
Our free ZIP Compressor can bundle multiple files and reduce their total size. This is the simplest approach.
Strategy 2: Split Large Files
If a single file is too large, split it:
- Use our PDF Splitter for PDF files
- Use our ZIP tool to create multiple smaller archives
Strategy 3: Optimize Before Compressing
- Images: Compress with our Image Compressor first
- PDFs: Remove unnecessary pages
- Videos: Use video compression tools
- Documents: Remove embedded images
Strategy 4: Use Cloud Links
For very large files:
- Upload to Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive
- Share a link instead of attaching
- Set appropriate sharing permissions
